With all of the showers we have had in NYC this April, we are hoping for fabulous May flowers.

This week is Earth Week and GIFT HERO will be posting about our favorite “green” gifts, tips and ideas. Today, we wanted to tell you about this awesome Gardening Set from Green Toys. Kids can grow their own “May flowers” and herbs (seeds and dirt are included in nifty little pods) in just days. The pots, tray and trowel are made from recycled milk containers — you can’t get more kid-friendly than that!

Gardening is a wonderful way to teach children about the environment and where their food comes from. It is so satisfying when the first little buds peek out from the soil. We can’t promise that the sunflowers will produce edible seeds but the basil will make a delicious, and very green, pesto.
